AEM Chip Fuses
Chip fuses, also known as surface mount fuses or SMD fuses, are small fuses that are used to protect electronic circuits from overcurrent conditions. They are typically rectangular in shape and are designed to be mounted directly onto a printed circuit board (PCB).
Chip fuses work by breaking the circuit when the current flowing through it exceeds a predetermined level. They contain a thin wire or conductive element that is designed to melt when the current exceeds a certain threshold, which interrupts the flow of current and protects the rest of the circuit.
Chip fuses come in a variety of sizes and current ratings to accommodate different applications. They are commonly used in a range of electronic devices, including computers, mobile phones, and automotive electronics, to protect sensitive components and prevent damage from overcurrent conditions.
