5G modules connect IoT devices to the cutting edge of cellular networks, with ultra-high data rates and ultra-low latency - enabling applications as diverse as remote surgery, autonomous driving, virtual reality gaming, AI-driven smart manufacturing and robotics.
5G already enables data rate several times faster than LTE-A - typical download speeds for our 5G modules are 4.2Gbps in standalone mode, 5Gbps in non-standalone, and 7.5Gbps using mmWave - and 5G is forecast to rise to around 100 times faster than LTE-A over its lifetime, meaning near-instant retrieval of vast quantities of data. This enables for instance smart factories with high-res cameras and real-time video analytics to monitor almost every facet of their business, driving efficiency and innovation. Network slicing allow sectors with widely divergent needs to occupy their own individual corners of 5G networks, ensuring service delivery at the highest level without interruption. Consequently, for example, smart vehicles will be able to support ultra-reliable connectivity for mission-critical on-board services such as safety telematics, while keeping passengers entertained with the latest streaming multimedia.
As 5G develops the commercial opportunities for those who prepare now will become truly vast. 5G connections will reach 10.3 billion by 2025, accounting for 29% of total connections and reaching 37% of the global population. By 2026, the addressable 5G revenue opportunity beyond connectivity provision is forecast to reach as much as $619 billion worldwide. As a pioneer of 5G IoT modules, Quectel can help organizations of all kinds become 5G-ready with our range of durable, secure and ultra-high performance modules - while our global R&D department (which spreads across three continents) ensures we can support the full range of 5G applications, and our dedication to customer care means we’re on hand to help your business with any technical questions you may have once you’ve begun.

LTE-A Modules

The most advanced form of 4G connectivity is LTE Advanced, usually known as LTE-A. This major enhancement of the Long Term Evolution (LTE) standard offers much higher data rates than LTE Standard - LTE-A networks can deliver speeds up to 2Gbps, nearly 14 times faster than LTE Cat 4.

This allows LTE-A modules to serve much more demanding solutions well into the future - with LTE-A download speeds, users can for instance stream a movie on a mobile device in just a few minutes - while maintaining backward compatibility with existing LTE networks. With an unusually broad range of LTE-A modules serving markets across the globe, unbeatable both on size and cost, Quectel is an ideal partner for those with an interest in the enormously wide range of solutions LTE-A can deliver

LPWA IoT Modules
Low-power wide-area (LPWA) modules connect devices requiring low power consumption, long range and high security, primarily via NB-IoT and LTE-M networks. This makes LPWA modules ideal for applications with low data requirements, which demand low running costs but may require many units, or those that operate in remote locations, and must be powered reliably over long periods and with minimal human intervention.
LPWA therefore brings many everyday objects into the IoT: thermostats, street lights, utility meters and even trashcans for instance can now be easily connected to cellular networks, then be monitored and controlled remotely, or automated entirely. Countless items which might previously never have seemed candidates for connectivity can now be intelligent devices.  Such solutions can provide crucial insights into operational performance, helping to drive perpetual improvements – and the data generated allows sectors as a whole to better understand themselves too.
LPWA’s impact is therefore transformative: industries such as agriculture, utilities and manufacturing are already making vast financial savings and environmental improvements, while enhancing workforce safety – and adoption is broadening all the time. LPWA connections are forecast to number well over 1 billion by 2023, with the overall LPWA market valued at $210 billion by 2025.  Early adopters will gain significant advantage over competitors – and the investment required may be surprisingly modest. Quectel’s range of durable and cost-effective LPWA IoT modules caters for the full array of applications across sectors in LPWA-ready markets, and the support we offer through the deployment process is second to none.
Use cases include
  • Asset tracking
  • Connected security
  • Environmental monitoring
  • Intelligent agriculture
  • Intelligent waste management
  • Shared micromobility
  • Smart lighting
  • Smart home appliances
  • Smart metering and grid
  • Health and fitness wearables
  • Wireless POS
